Yes, after working for 4 solid months without any break, at last ...
HOLIDAYS!!!
However, the excitement is quickly washed away by waves of preparation for the new term & the new year, books to read now, books to be read later, books to get for the library, & books to enrich my personal & spiritual life.
Sitting in the library, I looked around and found a book which I introduced to my beloved students years ago - Adeline Yen Mah's 'Falling Leaves'. I strolled into the bookshop and was greeted enthusiastically:
'Wah, you must ask your students to buy books more often. You know, the what LEAVES FALLING ah, no stock. They all place order, good lah.' I smiled at her and replied I would. That was at least 6 or 7 years ago.
Hmmm... smile smiles smiling smiled smiled - verbs conjugation.
When I was in my teens, I hardly smiled. Why? Because I laughed a lot, that's why. Then, into my early twenties, I hardly smiled. Why? To have that cool 'MODEL' look. Well, that's what people always commented about me - she's SO cool. For me, I suppose it should be more appropriately termed as 'cold as snow' - that's the meaning of the middle word of my Chinese name - snow.
I love my Chinese name, thanks to my Mum, she's a genius.
